- I HIGHLY recommend Bryan Cantrill's talk 'Debugging Under Fire: Keep your Head when Systems have Lost their Mind'.
- I've always had a soft spot for Riak. Nothing else was quite as unapologetically Erlang or intellectually demanding (perhaps a bit too demanding). Given that, I'm not really sure how to feel about the bankruptcy of Basho but the purchase and (predicted) open-sourcing of the code. I think I'll choose to be overall glad that the code will live on. There are some good comments in the thread though, perhaps predictably, not many actual users.
- I joked in college about running linux on a pencil. Not quite, but here's tetris on a pen soldering iron. Because it's there.
- A nice summary of how not to get random numbers completely wrong.
